I found this great article in Shutterbug magazine, and wanted to share: http://shutterbug.com/techniques/digital_darkroom/0809prints/. A few months back, I sent several photos to print and all they came back too dark. I am sure that this problem was a result of my high resolution LCD screen, as discussed in the article. At the time, it was a real inconvenience, as I had to lighten of my images by about 10% to 25% and send them back to print.
I'm happy to say that my reprints ended turned out great, and now I know that I need to lighten up photos before printing. Thank goodness I had built in some padding regarding my project due date. Until I read this article, I didn't realize the problem was so prevalent.
